The Narrow Way

Matthew 7:13-14 (ESV)
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”

This journal was started because I found that I spent many hours in God’s word without noticing any change in my self or my walk with the Lord.

I was reading Matthew 7 and when Jesus started talking about the narrow gate and way I realized I was looking at scripture the wrong way. I was seeing it as something that could make me a “better” person and while that is true I was wrong about how it does that.

The study of scripture makes you a better person because it points to the narrow gate and defines the narrow way. The narrow gate is Jesus, only by believing in him can one begin to know God and have eternal life. The narrow way, however, is more complex. The narrow way is how you live your life after coming to faith in Jesus. It is the day to day decisions you make and the only way you can stay on the narrow way is to let your decisions be guided by God. That guidance comes from God’s word.

This journal will be what I am learning about the Narrow Way.
